The report’s recommendations focus on improving data on the spread and impacts of feral deer; supporting the roll out of the National Feral Deer Action Plan; better coordinating feral deer management; listing feral deer as a Key Threatening Process under the EPBC Act; reviewing legislation to better enable landholders and park managers to control feral deer on their land; removing feral deer in World Heritage Areas, areas of national significance and national biodiversity hotspots; developing Codes of Practice for the humane control of feral deer; supporting research on feral deer management; and reviewing funding models to manage invasive species.
