Increase in sightings of feral animals in urban environments occurred after the black summer bushfires in south-east NSW.   NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) mapping data indicates feral deer moved into new areas with populations expanding and occupying an area covering around 22 per cent of the state, up 5 per cent from 2016.
